We are happy to announce that we have joined the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce
So on Sunday 2nd June 2019 a group of the Katherine Harriet Team took part in the Hereford Race for Life.
The weather wasn’t that kind to us and we were caught up in rain showers throughout the 5k course.
As always the positive pink atmosphere at the event carried us through the course. Such a wonderful event to be part of in memory of some many amazing people.
From Left to Right: Phoebe Tilby, Rebecca Tilby, Ashley Whaley, Lyn Gummer, Jemima Hayes, Hattie Hayes and Claire Whaley.
Katherine Harriet are pleased to be sponsoring the Hereford Health and Social Care Awards for the second year running, celebrating the Care Sector and all the wonderful, dedicated people that work within it.
LAST year it was good, and this year it’s going to be even better!
That was the message at the launch of the Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards 2019.
Sponsors gathered for a reception at the Hereford Times office to hear of plans for a new, bigger venue for the awards’ gala evening following the runaway success of last year’s event, in which there were 39 finalists.
Sue Griffiths, who is events director for Hereford Times publisher Newsquest Media Group, said the inaugural awards in 2018 had been an uplifting and inspiring occasion. But there was insufficient space for all those who wanted to attend and celebrate with the winners.
She said: “As a result, this year we are holding our presentation evening at the Three Counties Hotel in Hereford, which can accommodate more people.
“I am really looking forward to hearing more of the stories of expertise and dedication that at times moved our audience to tears last year.”
The awards will again salute outstanding work by individuals and teams in the health and social care sector across the county.
The 12 categories are: Care Team, Care Hero, Care Home Worker, Domiciliary Worker, Good Nurse, Outstanding Contribution to Social Care, Care Trainer, Dignity in Care, Dementia Carer, Palliative/ End of Life, Mental Health Care and Care Employer.
Our headline sponsor is the University of Worcester, the region’s leading healthcare training provider.
A series of supplements in the Hereford Times and special coverage on our website and social media will explain the awards that are up for grabs, appeal for entries, and publicise those shortlisted.
The climax will be an awards ceremony when the winners and runners-up are revealed, followed by a special supplement in the Hereford Times highlighting all the successful entrants.
One of the most emotional moments of last year’s awards evening came when Jan Best won the Good Nurse award posthumously. She had worked in the health industry for 40 years and looked after many patients within the NHS and at the Nuffield site on Aylestone Hill.
Nominations will be accepted until Wednesday, July 3, and the awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 12.

CQC have today launched its #DeclareYourCare campaign to encourage people to share their experiences of care so we can raise standards when we need to and celebrate the many examples of good care we see.
What a wonderful idea! I thought it would be really nice to share some of our Clients experiences with you all.
“To all the wonderful people at Katherine Harriet. Thank you for taking such care of my Dad. And to everyone in the office who have always been so patient and helpful.”
“To all at Katherine Harriet, with deepest gratitude for the wonderful care and friendship you gave us, making her life so much more pleasant.”

Katherine Harriet are really pleased to announce the Star Awards. It is an opportunity for us to reward our staff that really go the extra mile for our Clients.
As in previous years, the staff vote for their Finalists and Winners however to make it different this year we have also asked the Clients to vote too.
The nominations have been coming in thick and fast and we are looking forward to announcing the Winners and Finalists at the Christmas Parties.
Best of luck to all, Hattie
We were thrilled to be nominated for the Employer of the Year Award at the GB Care Awards for the West Midlands.
Hattie attended the Interview with the Judging Panel on Monday 22nd October 2018 at the Indoor Arena at Edgbaston Stadium. It was a day of judging where the Finalists had the opportunity to impress the judges for their categories.
The Awards night will be again held at Edgbaston Stadium on the 30th November 2018. This will be attended by Hattie Hayes (Managing Director), Rebecca Tilby (Registered Manager) and Claire Whaley (HR/Finance Manager).
Wishing all the other nominees the best of luck and fingers crossed for a wonderful night.
