Corona Virus Update

Dear All

Further to our most recent email, I write to inform you that Public Health England has revised their advice for those who have travelled recently. We ask that all staff and Clients pay careful heed to the Government’s advice, and also that you inform the Registered Manager if you or your families have returned from any of the identified areas in the specified timescale, so that we are aware.

Public Health England advice states:

  1. If you have returned from these specific areas since 19 February, you should call NHS 111 and stay indoors and avoid contact with other people even if you do not have symptoms: Iran, specific areas of northern Italy (in Lombardy: Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo and San Fioranoin Veneto: Vo’ Euganeo), Daegu or Cheongdo in South Korea, or the Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days).
  2. If you have returned from these areas since 19 February and develop symptoms, however mild, you should stay indoors and call NHS 111:  northern Italy (anywhere north of Pisa, Florence and Rimini), Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar. You do not need to follow this advice if you have no symptoms.
  3. If you have returned to the UK from any of these areas in the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately stay indoors and call NHS 111: China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau.

At KH we are following the advice we have received from Public Health England.

The situation is a developing one and the advice is likely to change. Please keep yourself up-to-date. Of course we will be in touch with you again as necessary. The current advice can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public

Here are steps we can take to avoid catching or spreading germs. You will find the current NHS advice here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/, under the heading ‘How to avoid catching or spreading germs’.

We also have hand gels in the office – please ensure you use these.

Many thanks
